Christina Aguilera Heads To NBC; Joins Cee Lo Green & Adam Levine As Coach On ‘The Voice’

Christina Aguilera has signed on to be a coach on NBC’s upcoming singing reality competition, “The Voice.”

The news comes just a day after Aguilera was arrested for public intoxication, but not charged.

Christina joins previously announced coaches Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine.

The Grammy Award winning superstars will serve as coaches on the Peacock’s new musical competition series, which premieres on April 26 at 9 PM, and will be hosted by Carson Daly.

“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Christina said in a statement. “To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms. I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to ‘The Voice.’”

A total of four coaches will be a part of the “The Voice,” a reality singing competition that will feature mentors picking singers during blind auditions. Once the coaches have their teams, they will bring in their own songwriters, producers and industry pals to help their teams evolve, NBC announced.

Talpa Productions, Mark Burnett and Warner Horizon Television produce “The Voice,” and Mark said Christina was his first choice for female coaches.

“When I decided to produce ‘The Voice,’ I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera,” Mark said in a statement. “Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of ‘The Voice.’”
