Christina Applegate Heading Back To TV For ‘Up All Night’ With Maya Rudolph & Will Arnett

Christina Applegate has lined up her first network comedy gig since the cancellation of “Samantha Who?” two years ago – “Up All Night” for NBC’s 2011-2012 primetime schedule.

The upcoming comedy pairs the actress alongside former “Saturday Night Live” player Maya Rudolph and “Arrested Development” funnyman Will Arnett.

“It’s basically who we are anyway,” Christina told Access Hollywood on Monday, explaining the show from former “SNL” writer Emily Spivey and “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels. “[It’s about] being a parent and [balancing] work, and, all of us. It’s kind of us.”

Christina stars as public relations executive Reagan in the show, Will plays her stay-at-home husband, Chris, and Maya plays Reagan’s outlandish boss and best friend, Ava.

“Everybody has different reasons for being up all night,” Will said of the show’s characters.

In real life, Christina recently gave birth to her first daughter, Sadie, earlier this year, Will just became a dad for the second time with wife, Amy Poehler, and Maya is currently pregnant with her third child.

Christina gave birth on January 27, but she told Access she’s ready to get back to work.

“I don’t think I was ready at the time, but I will be ready,” Christina said of getting back to a show schedule after baby.

The actress said she has been enjoying motherhood and will be changing things up at home a little with her impending TV schedule.

“It’s excellent… Amazing,” she said of parenthood. “We don’t have anybody with helping, which we will soon.”

“She’s a wonder woman,” Maya said.

“I’m tired,” Christina added, turning to Maya. “But she’s magical!”
