Christina Applegate Talks A Possible Return To TV & Ed O’Neill’s Emmy Snub

She grew up in front of America’s eyes, playing the bubbly but not so bright Kelly Bundy on TV’s “Married… With Children” before moving on to the more mature title role in ABC’s “Samantha Who?,” but Christina Applegate told Access Hollywood she’s not planning to return to TV anytime soon.

Christina — who lends her voice to the new film “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” — recently told Access Hollywood the cancellation of “Samantha Who?” in 2009 may have given the actress second thoughts about coming back to television.

“I loved my show so much so it’s going to be hard to find something I’m going to attach myself to at this point,” Christina told Access at the press junket for “Cats & Dogs.” “It’s really hard to leave kind of a perfect situation and perfect character that you just fall so in love with.”

She also produced “Samantha Who?” and said she wants to continue developing projects, but will take her time. She also has a few movies awaiting release, including the romantic comedy “Going The Distance,” starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long, which will be out in August.

Christina also commented on the recent Emmy snub of “Married” co-star Ed O’Neill for his role as Jay Pritchett on “Modern Family.” , Ed chose to enter his name in the Best Supporting Actor category, instead of the Lead Actor category, which would’ve likely netted him an Emmy nod.

“That is horrible,” she said. “He deserves so many accolades. The man is so incredibly talented and such a wonderful, wonderful person.”

“Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” hits theatres July 30.
