Claire Danes: President Clinton Is A Fan Of Homeland

Presidents, current and former, love “Homeland”!

After taking home the statue for Best Actress in a TV Drama Series at Sunday’s Golden Globes, “Homeland” star Claire Danes told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that former President Bill Clinton requested some face time with her.

“President Bill Clinton asked if I would come and meet him in some special room, so I just hung out with Bill Clinton,” the 33-year-old actress explained.

And Claire wasn’t the only actress Clinton – who appeared during the show earlier in the night where he introduced a clip from Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” – was spending time with.

“He was talking to Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson, and I thought, ‘Wow,’” the “Homeland” star told Billy. “He’s amazing. He’s, you know, an icon.”

Claire’s meeting with Clinton was reminiscent of a scene from her Showtime series.

”[It was in] a room somewhere in this hotel, surrounded by lots of very scary looking men,” she told Billy.

And just like President Obama, who has previously voiced he’s a fan of the show, Clinton can’t get enough of Carrie, Brody and Abu Nazir.

“He’s a fan of the show,” the actress explained.

Adding, “He very sweetly said that he appreciated how the character is kind of shedding light on mental illness, which is still a taboo subject. So, that was very flattering and I was very touched.”
