Clive Davis ‘Heartbroken’ For Houston Family

Clive Davis, who served as mentor to the late Whitney Houston, is understandably crushed over the situation with Bobbi Kristina Brown, who remains hospitalized.

“I have been in touch with Pat Houston on behalf of the family and we’ve been regularly in touch,” Davis told Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez on Thursday (Pat is the wife of Whitney’s brother, Gary). “I’ve been heartbroken that the family has to endure such pain again.

“Our thoughts, our prayers are certainly with Bobbi Kristina and Pat has expressed real gratitude for the outpouring of support,” he continued, adding, “They just ask that the public respect their privacy during this terrible time.”

Jennifer Hudson, who was with Davis on Thursday as she prepared for her performance with Iggy Azalea ahead of Davis’ pre-Grammys party, is one of those keeping Brown’s family in their thoughts.

“I like to follow the rules and show respect [for] their privacy… but I’m praying and thinking of them every day and, you know, just… it’s a tough time,” she told Hernandez. “Even just sitting back to witness and watch it is hard for us, so you can only imagine the situation, you know, how bad it is for the family right now.”
