Clive Davis ‘Was Very Against’ Whitney Houston Doing ‘Being Bobby Brown’

Whitney Houston’s time on “Being Bobby Brown” was not something friend and longtime mentor Clive Davis wanted for the late singer.

Despite reports that the music mogul encouraged the singer to appear on the 2005 Bravo reality series, a source close to Clive tells Access Hollywood otherwise.

“Clive never spoke to Whitney about ‘Being Bobby Brown,’” the source said.

In fact, Clive was opposed to music superstar appearing on the series, where she popularized the phrase, “Hell to the no.”

“Personally, he was very against it,” the source explained.

“Being Bobby Brown” debuted on Bravo in June 2005 and went on to score big ratings, but only ran for one season with 11 episodes.

In related news, a rep for Brown told Access that reports of him being unable to see daughter Bobbi Kristina since Houston’s death are not true.
