Colin Egglesfield Joins ‘Brothers & Sisters’

Colin Egglesfield has joined ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters,” AccessHollywood.com‘s Laura “Dish of Salt” Saltman has confirmed. The Dish was exclusive on set for Colin’s first day on Thursday.

Colin is playing the role of a young William Walker, the family’s deceased patriarch, who is played by Tom Skerritt.

The former “Melrose Place” star was abruptly fired from his previous series regular role on the CW show, but Colin is having the last laugh – in the announcement of next season’s renewals earlier this week, “Melrose” was the only CW show not to make the cut.

Colin joked with the Dish that clearly, “The fans left ‘Melrose Place’ after Auggie left.”

He also explained that since leaving “Melrose,” he has been taking time off, traveling, hanging with friends and seeing family, but he’s happy to finally be getting back to work.

This week “Brother and Sisters” is shooting scenes flashing back to the ‘80s. Next week, they shoot flashbacks to the ‘70s.

Colin joked to the Dish that he hopes they don’t give him a “porn mustache.”
