Colin Farrell Joins ‘True Detective’: ‘I’m So Excited’

One piece of the “True Detective” casting puzzle has fallen into place.

Colin Farrell has reportedly confirmed he will star in the HBO show’s second season.

“I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited,” the actor told Irish newspaper Sunday World (via Vulture).

Colin said he’s in the dark as to the many of the details, but could share some information as what the future holds for Season 2.

“I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot,” he said. “I know very little about it, but we’re shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great.

“It means I get to stay at home and see the kids,” he added.

According to the paper, the plot will involve a “bloody murder of a corrupt city businessman found dead the night before a major transportation deal” with “three police officials from different cities” trying to solve the crime.

As for who will join Colin in the cast, reports claims Elisabeth Moss and Rachel McAdams are vying for roles.

“True Detective” Season 1 (starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey) was nominated for 12 Emmy awards, and won five.
