Colton Haynes Returning To ‘Arrow’

Colton Haynes is making a return to The CW’s “Arrow.”

The actor, who played Roy Harper/Arsenal until his departure from the show near the end of Season 3, is set to return to the show for Episode 412.

Colton revealed the news on Friday, Tweeting, “Just landed in Vancouver to…BEGIN FILMING ON #ARROW AGAIN!!! So excited!!!”

Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim said the upcoming episode provided a path to bring Colton back to the show.

“We are beyond thrilled that Colton will be returning to ‘Arrow’ this season. It was always our intention to have him return following his departure last season, but it was a matter of finding the right storyline to pull it off. That opportunity presented itself in episode #412 and we can’t wait for the fans to see this reunion.”

Colton left shortly before the “Arrow” Season 3 finale, reappearing briefly to wrap up the Thea/Roy storyline.

“There’s a reason why we didn’t kill off Roy,” Guggenheim said last spring, when Colton’s departure was revealed to TV press. “We want Roy Harper and Arsenal to remain in this little universe that we’re creating and Colton was like completely game for that.

“The relationship is still there and his desire to continue to play the character is still there and those are the two things you need,” the EP added at the time.
