Columbia Pictures To Remake Schwarzenegger’s ‘Total Recall’

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Total Recall” is getting a makeover.

Columbia Pictures will produce a remake of the 1990 intergalactic super agent sci-fi film, according to Variety.

Kurt Wimmer (“Salt,” “Street Kings,” “Sphere”) has been tapped to write the remake.

The new version of the film will be a contemporary adaptation of the sci-fi saga, based on Phillip K. Dick’s “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.”

Set in the year 2084, the original “Total Recall” starred Schwarzenegger as Quaid – a man who goes to Mars via a memory transplant and discovers he may have more than one identity.
