Comic-Con: Veronica Mars Movie Trailer Reveals Surprise Star (Watch)

The moment 91,585 Kickstarter backers have been waiting for finally arrived on Friday.

At a Comic-Con panel in San Diego, Calif., a sneak peek of the upcoming “Veronica Mars” movie was screened.

In the five-minute clip (which includes roughly three minutes of commentary from the cast and crew, leading up to the actual trailer), Veronica (Kristen Bell) is seen at the Neptune High reunion where she runs into Dick (Ryan Hansen) – complete with his side swept, blond hair and a flask-concealing belt.

The footage also revealed a surprise star.

Jamie Lee Curtis appears in one scene, questioning Veronica during a job interview at a law firm.

During the panel discussion, “VM” creator Rob Thomas said he hopes the coming movie is the first of many featuring the fan-favorite P.I., but admitted he doesn’t want the next film to be fan-funded.

“I want this to be the Bond franchise,” he told the Comic-Con crowd. “I hope we make a ton of money on this movie, and we get to do it through the normal channels.”
