Conan O’Brien Announces Name Of His New TBS Late-Night Show

Conan O’Brien fans can finally rest easy – the name of the late night host’s new TBS show has been officially announced.

The long-awaited name of the show will be “Conan,” Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“I’m just using ‘Conan’ and dropping the ‘O’Brien,’” he said jokingly, in a statement to Access. “I want to get away from the whole Irish thing.”

The comedian made the initial announcement Wednesday morning in a Youtube video released first to NY Magazine’s Vulture blog and TeamCoco.com.

“I wanted one word that captured my essence,” Conan joked. “’Oprah’ was already taken.”

Coco, as fans have dubbed him, describes the name as “simple, pure, like the guy himself.”

The one word title was reportedly chosen weeks ago, but had to be cleared legally. Conan’s legal team has been working with TBS for the past few weeks to check for any copyright issues with the moniker, according to Vulture.

“Conan” will make its highly-anticipated debut on November 8 at 11 PM on TBS.
