Conan O’Brien Makes First Tweet

Conan O’Brien may no longer have a TV show – but now, he’s on Twitter.

The comedian posted his first Tweet on Wednesday afternoon and had already picked up over 45,000 followers, as of Wednesday evening.

“Today I interviewed a squirrel in my backyard and then threw to commercial. Somebody help me,” he Tweeted.

His bio on the site reads, “I had a show. Then I had a different show. Now I have a Twitter account.”

And he’s got at least one celeb follower — Christina Applegate Tweeted on Wednesday, “If this is really @conanobrien on twitter, then my life is complete!!! Coco! Coco! Coco!”

Conan’s Tweets could be a preview of jokes the comedian will take on the road in the coming months. The New York Times reported last week that the former “Tonight Show” host, whose severance deal bars him from television until September, is planning a live “revue” that will merge his TV past with “new stage elements.”

In the meantime, until today, Conan had been taking a break from cracking jokes – and shaving. He was recently photographed with a new beard.
