Cory Monteith’s Mom Thanks Fans For Support Following Glee Star’s Death

Cory Monteith’s mom, Ann McGregor, took to Twitter to thank her son’s fans for their comforting words following the actor’s death.

“I would like to thank all of Cory’s supporters at this extremely emotional time,” Ann Tweeted on Thursday evening, in her first Tweet since January. “Your support has been overwhelming … thank you!”

Ann also addressed media reports sourcing supposed family insiders regarding her future plans in the wake of the “Glee” star’s death.

“The person releasing articles relating to my feelings and thoughts on how to take care of Cory’s ashes has never been in contact with me,” she wrote. “I have never met or spoken to this person. He does not represent me or my wishes.”

Cory’s girlfriend (and “Glee” co-star) Lea Michele also broke her Twitter silence this week on Monday, Tweeting, “Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, due to Cory’s sudden passing (the 31-year-old was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13, from a fatal combination of heroin and alcohol), “Glee” Season 5 will premiere on September 26 – one week later than originally planned.
