The CW Unveils Fall 2016 TV Schedule With Supergirl; Moves ‘The Originals’ To Midseason

“Supergirl” may be moving to a new network this
fall, but the show will stay on Monday nights.

On Thursday morning, The CW announced its fall 2016
schedule, revealing “Supergirl” has landed Monday nights at 8/7c,
followed by “Jane the Virgin” at its regular time at 9/8c.

Tuesdays will see “The Flash” continue at 8/7c, followed by a new series, “No Tomorrow,” starring
Tori Anderson and Jesse Rath.

On Wednesdays this fall, “Arrow” Season 5 will be followed by another new drama, “Frequency,” starring Peyton List, Riley Smith, Mekhi Phifer, Devin Kelly, Anthony Ruivivar, Daniel Bonjour and Lenny Jacobson.

Thursdays will see the pairing up of “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” at 8/7c, with “Supernatural” at 9/8c.

“The Vampire Diaries” maintains its Friday night slot of 8/7c, but will now be followed by “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” at 9/8c.

“Archie” comics-inspired series “Riverdale” will head to The CW during midseason. Other midseason shows include “iZombie,” “The 100,” “Reign” and “The Originals.”

During a conference call with reporters on Thursday morning, CW President Mark Pedowitz addressed rumors that the 2016-2017 TV season would be the last for “The Vampire Diaries.”

“No decision has been made one way or the other,” he said.

The CW boss was also asked about potential for a four-show DC universe crossover between “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Legends” and “Supergirl.” He tossed to his presentation at The CW’s Upfronts later in the afternoon for the full details on if that will happen, but hinted the network’s annual crossover event will be “the biggest one ever.”
