Daisy Ridley: Landing ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Role Was ‘Insane’

Daisy Ridley’s first day on the set of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was exhilarating and understandably frightening.

More so, the British actress told Access Hollywood stepping into the role of Rey was “incredible.”

“It was incredible. We went through a couple of costume tries and a couple of hair tries, and putting on the right costume, the one that I ended up in, everyone was like, ‘Oh my God’ and the same thing happened with the hair,” Daisy told Access’ Scott Mantz and Liz Hernandez at the “Stars: The Force Awakens” junket on Sunday, adding that her first day on set “was insane, and also terrifying.”

The coveted casting marks Daisy’s first role in a major movie, making the experience “obviously overwhelming.”

“I just wanted to get in and do the job. The longest I’d ever worked on anything was two weeks,” she said, laughing.

The 23-year-old also confirmed reports she felt she was going to get fired everyday while filming.

“Oh my God, yeah… [but] obviously with [director] J.J. [Abrams] and everyone, they were very encouraging and wonderful and make you feel important and talented,” she said.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens on December 18.
