Dancing With The Stars: D.L. Hughley On Elimination — ‘My Heart Is Sad, Knees Are Happy’

D.L. Hughley became the latest victim of the elimination axe on Tuesday’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

While he’s disappointed to leave, the comedian is proud he made it further than he initially expected to.

“Look, I got halfway there,” he told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson following his elimination. “It’s like I left for San Francisco and ended up in Bakersfield. So it’s great.”

And he certainly won’t miss the physical challenges of grueling daily rehearsals.

“My heart is sad, but my knees are happy,” he said. “I was glad I was physically able to hold up.”

As for which competitor he’s hoping will take home the mirrorball trophy, D.L. said he’s rooting for fellow comedian Andy Dick or NFL star Jacoby Jones to dance their way to victory.

“Andy is just my sentimental favorite — but I just can’t say ‘I’m Team Dick,’” he joked. “I just can’t do that.

“I got to go for Jacoby,” he continued. “I think a pigeon-toed, tall dude from New Orleans — come on. What greater story would there be than that?”

“Dancing with the Stars” returns Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
