‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recap: Find Out Who Went Home & Which Two Teams Topped The Leaderboard

An impressive team was eliminated on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

(Spoiler Alert! This story contains the elimination news from Monday’s “DWTS.”)

Actress Lea Thompson and her pro, Artem Chigvintsev, were cut from the competition, leaving Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd, Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy, Bethany Mota and Derek Hough, Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson, and Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas still in the Season 19 in the game.

“I just feel really great,” Lea said of her journey on the show.

“I feel strong and I’m anxious to get back to my day job on ‘Switched at Birth.’ And I just love this man and he’s a new pro here and I think he did a great job with me,” she added.

Lea and Artem leave the show on a high, capturing 34 out of 40 points for their final paired samba together, and another 36 points (for a total of 70 for the night) for their trio dance with Henry Byalikov.

Monday night’s leaderboard was topped by two teams – Alfonso and Witney and Janel and Val.

Both pairs earned 77 points across two rounds of competition. Alfonso and Witney took home 37 points for their show opening foxtrot, and a full 40 points for their trio dance, where they were joined by pro Lindsay Arnold.

Janel and Val impressed the judges enough to earn 38 points for their quickstep (Julianne Hough called it “the best dance of the night”), and another 39 points for their trio dance with pro Keo Motsepe.

Bethany and Derek were next on the leaderboard, followed by Sadie and Mark, with Tommy and Peta landing in the bottom spot for the night.

“Dancing” continues next Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
