Although “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Lisa Vanderpump and boxer Victor Ortiz were in the Bottom 2 on “Dancing with the Stars,” the person who went home was figure skating legend Dorothy Hamill, who withdrew from the competition due to injury.

“I’ve taken the advice of my spine surgeon and I need to withdraw from the competition,” Dorothy told show co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet. “I have an injury that could be irreparable and nerve damage and it would be completely unfair for me to stay in this and have any of these people go home.

“I can’t do what I need to,” she continued. “I can’t do [Tristan MacManus, my partner] justice and these are the most amazing people who want to be here, and it’s not that I don’t want to be here. I wish I could give it my all, and I can’t.”

Tristan said Dorothy made the appropriate decision.

“It’s a decision that has to be made,” he said. “There’s something a lot bigger going on than this competition.”

All the remaining contestants will continue on in the competition when “Dancing with the Stars” returns next week on Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
