Dancing With The Stars: Victor Ortiz – ‘I Have No Regrets’

Victor Ortiz was given the boot on Tuesday’s “Dancing with the Stars” but the boxer doesn’t harbor any hard feelings.

“Obviously it didn’t go as planned or as we wanted. But at the end of the day, I appreciate this whole experience,” Victor told Access Hollywood following his elimination. “I have no regrets. I don’t take anything back.”

Adding, “I tried my hardest and it was evident that I’m not a dancer.”

Victor and professional “DWTS” partner Lindsay Arnold have hovered near the bottom of the leader board for weeks on the show, and Monday night’s lackluster rumba sealed their fate.

Despite the harsh reviews of his and Lindsay’s performance, Victor said he’s confident his dancing has improved greatly since he first hit the dance floor in March.

“We had a rough start. We really did. We had a lot of challenges,” he said. “But we pushed through all of them and now we’re here and it’s just so cool to look back on where we were at the beginning and then to [look at] where we are now.

“I’m just so proud of both of our experiences on this competition,” he added.

Though disappointed with his elimination, Victor said he’s happy to refocus his energy on his number one love – boxing.

“Dance is very hard in many ways — more than one — hands down,” he told Access, adding that he plans to give up dancing completely now that he’s done with the show. “So, as of right now, I’ll just focus on capturing my World Championships once again. I’m coming back and going to come back strong.”
