‘Dancing With The Stars’ Week 3: Who Went Home?

Another celebrity has left the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom in Season 21.

(Spoiler alert! This story reveals who won’t be continuing on in the competition.)

Singer Andy Grammer and partner Allison Holker, and celebrity chef Paula Deen and her partner, Louis van Amstel, landed in the “in jeopardy” group on Monday night’s episode, but they were not sent home. Instead, earlier in the night, it was revealed that because Kim Zolciak Biermann was unable to compete during Mondays’ show, she and Tony Dovolani have to withdraw from the competition.

Kim, who suffered a mini-stroke last week, rehearsed for the broadcast, the theme of which was TV night, but because (doctor’s orders) she wasn’t able to fly, she and Tony had to exit the competition. The pro, in jest, asked Tom if the show could bend the rules to keep the pair in the game, but it had already been determined by lawyers that they wouldn’t be able to continue.

The former “Real Housewives” star showed the audience that she is doing better, appearing via Facetime from her home in Atlanta.

“My doctor told me yesterday that it’s just too soon to fly. That I could go next week, but I just couldn’t go today. So I’m really sad,” Kim said.

Those remaining in the competition saw another leaderboard shakeup on Monday. Nick Carter rose again with partner Sharna Burgess, to claim the top spot, a place they shared with Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas.

Nick’s routine – a waltz to the “Downton Abbey” theme – was called “best dance of the night” by Judge Julianne Hough, and they took home 36 out of 40 points.

Alexa and Mark earned the same score for their jazz number to the “Breaking Bad” theme (Mark sported a Walter White bald cap). Guest judge Alfonso Ribeiro, a former mirrorball champ, also had some valuable advice for Alexa, who is competing this season against her husband, Carlos PenaVega.

“You two can win. You and Carlos cannot,” Alfonso said, referring to the Alexa/Mark “DWTS” partnership. “This is your relationship in this ballroom, and remember that going forward – for both of you. … And stay connected with [Mark] because you can win.”

There was another tie on the leaderboard in the next spot, between Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold and Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, as both teams scored 33 points each.

“True talent runs in your blood. … It was totally compelling until the last bite,” Bruno Tonioli said of Alek and Lindsay’s tango to the “True Blood” theme song.

The judge also loved Tamar and Val’s “Mad Men” theme song number.

“You two mean business. Dirty. Ruthless. Business,” Bruno said.

Bindi Irwin faced some struggles in the run-up to this week’s competition night when “DWTS” was unable to clear the song she and Derek Hough were going to dance to (“The Jetsons”), and they had to change their song, and routine, two days before hitting the stage. Julianne told Bindi her quickstep to “Movin’ on Up” (the theme song to “The Jeffersons”) was not her best dance. The teen and pro Derek then took home 32 points.

While his score wasn’t as high as he hoped, Hayes Grier got to dance to the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” theme with partner Emma Slater, earning 30 points for the night.

Since there was no elimination due to Kim’s exit, the scores will carry over into next week.
