Darren Criss: A Glee Fan ‘Licked My Face’

Gleeks can be a hardcore bunch!

Darren Criss, who plays Blaine Anderson on “Glee,” has opened up about an experience he had with an overzealous fan.

“A guy licked my face – straight up grabbed my head and licked my face,” the actor revealed to Cosmopolitan’s October issue, when asked to share an encounter with a “Gleek gone wild.”

The actor – whose TV character is gay – is straight off-screen, but he wasn’t fazed by the too-close encounter with the fan boy. In fact, Darren said he doesn’t feel the need to remind people of his heterosexuality and isn’t bothered by speculation.

“I know who I am. I feel bad for guys who have to flex their muscles,” he said. “But hey, if that’s the way to make yourself feel comfortable as a man—as long as it isn’t antagonizing anybody—go for it.

Adding, “I’m okay with your getting a Miata to feel like a dude; just don’t be a d**k about it.”

As for how the “Glee” cast is holding up after returning to work minus co-star Cory Monteith, Darren said the group is “picking up the pieces.”

“Cory loved life and wanted his friends to be happy, so it’s only right that we try and start to smile again,” he said. “That’s something that he would have wanted. I am just so happy that he got to touch as many lives as he did while we were all lucky enough to have him.”

Cosmo’s October issue hits newsstands on September 10. “Glee” returns with its Season 5 premiere on September 26 on Fox.
