David Beckham Apologizes For Accidental Snub In Australia

David Beckham has apologized for not meeting with a group of young cancer survivors who were hoping to meet the soccer idol on Sunday night.

The soccer star, who is in Australia for a Galaxy exhibition match, was accused of snubbing the group of kids, who were waiting for him outside his hotel.

“I would never have done that,” Beckham told reporters Monday, the Associated Press reported.

Beckham said he simply didn’t see the group of children as he was rushed in under police escort from a flight from London.

“Never have done, never will do. I’m more than willing to meet them wherever they want and at whatever time that they want. I apologize, but like I said, I didn’t actually see them,” he said.

The father of three has been a Goodwill Ambassador and regularly supports children’s causes.
