David Bowie’s Son Throws Possible Shade At Lady Gaga’s Grammys Performance

It seems not
everyone was impressed with Lady Gaga’s David Bowie tribute – including David
Bowie’s own son.

Filmmaker
Duncan Jones posted a cryptic Tweet on Monday night, which some interpreted as
thinly-veiled criticism of the Grammys performance that honored his late father.

“‘Overexcited or irrational,
typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused,'”
Jones wrote. “Damn it! What IS that word!?”

While the director
never mentioned the Grammys or Bowie specifically, followers soon noticed that
his words quoted the dictionary definition of “gaga” nearly verbatim.

Jones hasn’t
offered further clarification about his statement, but others responded with more
specific opinions regarding the homage.

Gaga showcased
a medley of Bowie’s hits onstage during the annual music awards fete, but kicked off her efforts early in
a red carpet ensemble reminiscent of the rocker’s “Space Oddity” days.

The Oscar
nominee has also honored Bowie with more than just music and fashion.

Ahead of her
Grammys appearance, Gaga had the artist’s iconic Ziggy Stardust face tattooed on her side.
