David Cook & Fellow Season 7 ‘Idol’s’ Visit Luke Menard In Hospital

“American Idol” winner David Cook has visited his former competitor Luke Menard in hospital.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Menard, a Season 7 contender, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and has been receiving treatment for the disease in Los Angeles.

Cook made the trip to visit the 29-year-old with fellow “Idol” alumni Michael Johns and Jason Yeager.

“I love Luke and I just wanted to show up and make sure that he understood that I love him and know that if there’s anything I can do for him and his wife, sign me up, you know?” Cook told People.com.

The “Idol” champ told the Web site that the four men became friends during early days of the competition and their bond was still strong.

“We called ourselves the four horsemen,” Cook said. “Any time one of your own is going through something as horrible as that, it makes everything else seem a little bit insignificant.”

Cook is very familiar with cancer struggles. His older brother Adam has been suffering from brain cancer.

“Cancer is a very big part of my existence,” the “Idol” winner said. “I’m excited to be put in [the spotlight] where I can hopefully do something to help other people.”
