David Hasselhoff: Justin Bieber Knows About ‘The Hoff’

At 60 years old, David Hasselhoff has no intention of slowing down. So how does the iconic TV star stay relevant?

“I hang out with the kids,” he told Kit Hoover and guest co-host Lisa Rinna on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live, when asked the secret behind his career longevity.

His strategy appears to be working, as The Hoff said even The Biebs, 18, knows who he is.

“I met Justin Bieber and he goes, ‘Hey! The Hoff!’ I go, ‘I’ve got Bieber fever,’ he goes, ‘ You gotta go to the Hoff-pital!’” he said with a laugh. “I mean, it’s like, crazy. Justin Bieber knows who The Hoff [is].”

And Justin’s not the only Hasselhoff fan.

The former “Baywatch” and “Knight Rider” star recently appeared in an ad campaign for East Coast grocery chain Cumberland Farms — promoting an iced coffee drink nicknamed (what else?) “Hoffee” — and the cutouts featuring a smiling Hoff are being snatched up just as soon as they’re released, forcing the company to order replacement ads.

“What happened was people were coming in for a cup of coffee and as they were asking for the coffee, they’d have their brother go out and steal the poster,” David explained. “550 have been stolen. So now it’s become this cult thing.”

As for why the cutouts are a hit, the actor said he’s not exactly sure — but he’s not about to complain about the publicity!

“They put them in their rooms – they put them in their dorm rooms,” he said. “It’s become this big cult, crazy thing.”
