Dean McDermott In ICU With Collapsed Lung After Motorcycle Accident

Dean McDermott is hospitalized in the intensive care unit following a motorcycle accident, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“Dean is in ICU. He was in a motorcycle accident,” a rep for his wife, Tori Spelling, told Access.

Though his injuries are serious, the actress’ rep believes Dean will recover.

’[Dean] has a punctured [and] collapsed lung,” the rep continued. “He’s expected to make a full recovery. [He] will remain in ICU for a few more days.”

Fans of the couple’s show, “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” know that Dean’s love for motorcycles has often been a point of contention for the couple.

“He’s in a lot of pain,” Tori told People, who was first to report the news. “He’s taking this as a sign and realizing family is too important to risk his life.”

According to the mag, Dean crashed on Tuesday when he was riding a dirt bike with two pals.

“His friend called me and said he was in the ER. He didn’t want to scare me so he just said he had a crash and that they were X-raying him,” Tori continued. “At first I was mad. I was pissed that he was out biking and crashed. But when I showed up and saw him lying there, and they told me they were admitting him to ICU with a collapsed lung, my heart dropped. My biggest fear had come true.”

This isn’t Dean’s first motorcycle related accident this year — he fractured his shoulder while riding in January.
