Dennis Quaid Unleashes Epic On-Camera Meltdown; Is It Real?

Dennis Quaid’s profanity-laced tirade – real or fake?

That’s the question being asked after the video was posted on YouTube, showing the actor having a total meltdown while filming an as-of-now unknown production.

The verbal barrage apparently started when someone from the production crew stepped into a scene while Quaid was filming.

“I am acting here and this d**khead wanders onto my set! I can’t even get a line out until dopey the d**k starts whispering in your ear and you’re not even watching anymore!” he screams.

When someone behind the scenes tries to calm the actor down, it only makes things worse, prompting whoever was filming the incident to put the camera down – although they are still recording.

“Don’t f**king ‘Dennis’ me! I am doing my job here. I am a pro! This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on!” he continues. “This is horse s**t!”

So is the entire thing a candid moment, capturing Quaid at his worst? Or merely a gag?

While questions continue to swirl around the tape’s authenticity, a Reddit user reportedly commented that he works for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and the whole thing was just a prank.

Quaid, of course, has shown off his pranking skills in the past, teaming up with Ellen DeGeneres for a series of (not-so-expletive-filled) gag sketches over the years.

In other Quaid-related news, the 61-year-old actor will star in “The Art of More,” a hour long drama for Sony’s Crackle streaming service, it was announced on Tuesday.

When asked about the clip at Crackle’s Upfront presentation in New York City on Tuesday, the actor played coy, only saying, “Oh I’m not gonna talk about that.”

Coincidence? Or perfect (promotional) timing?

UPDATE: A spokesperson for Crackle released the following statement to Access Hollywood on Tuesday afternoon:

“Dennis was at Crackle’s upfront presentation today, but Crackle had nothing to do with the video.”
