Dennis Quaid’s Wife Files For Divorce

After nearly eight years of marriage, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid has filed for divorce from actor Dennis Quaid, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“We can confirm that Kimberly Quaid has filed for divorce. Contrary to what has been reported, a satisfactory settlement is being worked out for both parties,” a rep told Access Hollywood on Friday. “We will not be providing any further information on this private matter.”

Kimberly and Dennis tied the knot in 2004. They have 4-year-old twins, Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace.

“The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between [Kimberly] and [Dennis] that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation,” Kimberly stated in her filing as the Grounds for Divorce.

Also in her filing, Kimberly is requesting spousal support from the actor.

As for the couple’s twins, both parents will share custody of the twins on a temporary basis until a custody settlement is reached.

Back in 2007, the twins nearly died just days after being born when they were accidentally given an overdose of the blood-thinning drug Heparin at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dennis and Kimberly were eventually awarded $750,000 in a lawsuit stemming from the incident.

In January 2008, Dennis told Access Hollywood the twins recovered from the near-fatal incident and were “doing great.”

In terms of property, Kimberly will keep the family’s primary residence along with a Mercedes.

Dennis will keep the family’s condo and a Cadillac.

The parties will share ownership of a Range Rover.

This would be the third divorce for Dennis. Dennis and Meg Ryan divorced in 2001 (they also have a 19-year-old son, Jack, together). In 1983, he divorced from actress PJ Soles after nearly five years of marriage.
