Derek Hough, Cheryl Burke Back On ‘Dancing,’ Lacey Schwimmer Out

A handful of professional dancers have confirmed they are heading back for Season 10 of “Dancing with the Stars,” but even more interestingly, a couple of veterans have announced that they would not be returning to the hit reality program.

Two-time winner Cheryl Burke (with Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith) and one time winner Derek Hough (with Brooke Burke) both confirmed on Twitter they will be back for the show’s latest season, which returns to ABC on March 22.

The two pros confirmed their participation in the celebrity reality dancing show via Twitter.

“I’m Not not doing season 10” Derek wrote craftily with a double negative, while Cheryl was more direct, Tweeting, “Got the big call! Can’t wait till next week!!!!”

On Monday afternoon, Mark Ballas also joined the list of dancers returning, Tweeting, “So I uuuuuuuuuh guess i WILL see you next season my friends :)”

But two pros so far have announced they would not be returning for this season – Lacey Schwimmer and Jonathon Roberts.

“Hey twitterbugs! I will not be doing DWTS this season. But be sure to tune in! <3” Lacey wrote.

UPDATE (Tuesday, Feb. 23) – Access has also learned that Kym Johnson also will most likely not be returning!

A number of dancers including Karina Smirnoff, Louis Van Amstel and Anna Trebunskaya all revealed on Twitter they haven’t learned if they are coming back, while last year’s pro winner, Kym Johnson, who nabbed the mirrorball with Donny Osmond, didn’t address the issue at all. Chelsie Hightower also failed to Tweet any news about her status on the show.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, a source revealed Pamela Anderson is one of the celebrities set to compete this season, as will a man who has stepped foot on the moon.

Reps for the show would not comment on the celebrity casting rumors.

The full cast of season ten of “Dancing with the Stars” will be announced during “The Bachelor” season finale on March 1.
