Dina Lohan Responds To Katie Couric’s ‘Glee’ Jab

“Glee” is making a habit out of taking shots at the Lohan family — and, the Lohan family is making a habit out of not taking too kindly to the show’s barbs.

On Sunday’s post-Super Bowl episode of the hit FOX show, it was guest star Katie Couric who fired off a pot shot at Lohan matriarch Dina, tabbing her one of the year’s biggest “losers,” along with the family’s fictional dog – Sparky Lohan.

Unfortunately for the folks at “Glee,” Dina isn’t laughing.

“It’s a shame as the dance numbers are amazing, but the writers need to be nice and more creative as opposed to being hurtful,” Dina told E! Online on Monday. “They are sending the wrong message to the youth that are watching. Oh, and I must get a ‘fifth’ dog named Sparky.”

Dina also took exception with the show’s messenger – Katie Couric, who guest starred as herself in a scene with Jane Lynch, whose character Sue Sylvester was named “Loser of the Year.”

“As far as Katie Couric is concerned, she has a short memory when the tabloids were trashing her a few years ago — and she’s a mom!” Dina added.

Of course, it’s not the first time a “Glee” guest star has targeted the Lohans.

During Gwyneth Paltrow’s initial appearance as substitute teacher Holly Holiday, she – via showrunner Ryan Murphy’s script – took aim at Lindsay’s tabloid troubles.

“Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?” Gwyneth’s character asked her Spanish class. “How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?”

Following Gwyneth’s jokes, an attorney for Dina issued a statement to Access Hollywood expressing her disappointment in the show.

“Dina Lohan and her three other children are very sadly disappointed with the [‘Glee’] writers, and also disappointed that a huge celebrity such as Gwyneth Paltrow, would relay such a message about a contemporary,” Stephanie Ovadia, an attorney for Dina and her children, told Access Hollywood at the time.

Ovadia also represented the Lohan clan in another Super Bowl flap – when the family sued E*Trade over their 2010 Super Bowl commercial with a “milkaholic” baby named Lindsay. That lawsuit was eventually settled.
