Dish Of Salt: Friday TV Dish (A Love Connection For ‘Idol’ Lacey Brown)

I was sad to see Lacey Brown get eliminated this week on “American Idol,” but I was happy to see her this morning for a one-on-one interview. Plus, I brought her a special surprise. And which “Aerosmith” song will Neil Patrick Harris be tackling on “Glee”? I’ve got the answer straight from the star.

Lacey’s Love Connection
So this morning I played a little bit of a matchmaker with adorable red-headed “Idol” eliminee Lacey Brown. Now that the 24-year-old is no longer in the competition, I figured she has more time on her hands for dating. She told me last week at the “Idol” red carpet party for the top 12 she was “very, very single.” A few nights later, I took a trip up to the “If I Can Dream House” (the 24/7 online show about aspiring artists) where Miley Cyrus’s ex boyfriend and “Dream” cast mate, Justin Gaston, admitted he had a huge crush on the “Idol” singer. They are both singers. They are both from the South. Lacey’s from Texas, Justin from Lousiana. A perfect match, I thought. So, I came armed with a shirtless photo of Justin for Lacey to check out this morning and she was impressed with what she saw. “I think we would be a good couple,” she giggled. “You can hook this up. You can give him my number, my digits. Call me!” I’m working on it!

Neil Patrick Harris Talks “Glee”
Color me jealous because Tony Potts had a chance to chat with Neil Patrick Harris yesterday at the ShoWest convention in Las Vegas – and I, of course, sent along some “Glee” questions for him. Neil told Tony he had fun filming the show and reuniting with his “Dr Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog” director Joss Whedon – but it was a ton of work, “‘Glee,’ super great, good times but so many words to memorize, you know. I’d so much rather be Joss Whedon on the other side of the camera you know directing it,” he admitted. “‘Glee’s’ like factory work. They work 15 hour days. The crew has to be quiet. It’s a tricky dynamic because when you watch ‘Glee,’ it’s so buoyant and fun and exuberant and then when you’re filming it it’s very, you know, you’re working hard.”

It seems Neil has been bitten by the director bug himself too.“Then you get to cast it and you get to stage it and you get to call the shots,” he said. “As an actor you sit in the holding room or a motor room or wherever for, you know, three hours and then you get a quick bang on the door and you run and you film and then you’re done and the second team comes in. As a director you’re like there with the crew and with the cast and you’re actually, I feel like you’re working.” He’ll get his wish. Neil is making his directorial debut this summer with the Hollywood Bowl’s production of “Rent.”

And another “Glee” spoiler for you. As I had previously found out, Neil will duet on an Aerosmith song with Matthew Morrison. He spilled the beans to Tony that the song will be “Dream On.”

Tori’s Take On “DWTS”
Tori Spelling and her daughter Stella were on hand yesterday for a private VIP performance by Disney’s Imagination Movers, Disney Channel’s hit Emmy Award-winning Playhouse Disney series. Tori told us she’s thrilled that her former “Beverly Hill’s 90210” co-star Shannen Doherty is set to hit the ballroom on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” this season. “I’m really excited. She’s perfect for it,” Tori said. “She’s a really good dancer.”

Ian Ziering was the first “Beverly Hills” star to hit the “DWTS” dance floor in season four, followed by Jennie Garth, in season five, Both made it to the final four but were eliminated before the semi-finals. But would Tori ever consider following in her co-stars’ footsteps? “Oh my gosh. I don’t know. I would be so nervous,” she told us. “Now mind you I am a good dancer. I will put that out there! I remember when Jennie was doing it she was like ‘It was so nervewracking.’ I don’t if know if I could do it but it’s definetely something I would be open to.”

Hmmm. Sounds like the ball is in ABC’s court.
