Dish Of Salt: Friday TV Round Up (Are Nene & Kim Getting Booted From ‘Housewives’?)

Golden Morning
Tuesday morning it’s an early wake up call for the staff here at Access Hollywood, myself included. At 5 AM west coast time nominations for the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Ricky Gervais, are announced. “The Office’s” John Krasinski, “Inglorious Basterds” actress Diane Kruger and the multi-talented Justin Timberlake will be on hand to read the names. I’ll be sure and bring Justin a vanilla latte or something.

Soapy Snoop
He’s not just a hip-hop legend. He’s also a soap opera fan too! Snoop Dogg will be making his second appearance on the ABC daytime drama, “One Life To Live” on February 24, 2010. Snoop taped his segment yesterday and apparently he was the one who reached out to the show to come back on. He will be playing himself and perform the song “I Wanna Rock” from his new album “Malice In Wonderland.” Back in May of 2008 was the first time Snoop came on the show where he put his own spin on the show’s theme song. Snoop has been a fan of “One Life To Live” since he was a baby because his mom always had in on in the background.

Leev-ing “Desperate Housewives”
Seems “Frasier” star Jane Leeves is taking what she learned from brothers Frasier and Niles on that show and applying it to “Desperate Housewives.” Leeves will play Tom Scavo’s (Doug Savant) psychotherapist in at least two episodes of the show ABC confirms. She’ll be helping Tom deal with his mid-life crisis. I’m guessing the fact that former “Frasier” show runner Joe Keenan is a consulting producer on the show might have something to do with this casting.

A “Lopez” Reunion
Cast members from the “George Lopez Show” which ran for six seasons on ABC, will reunite on Tuesday’s “Lopez Tonight” on TNT. Cast members Constance Marie, Belita Moreno, Valente Rodriguez, Luis Armand Garcia, Masiela Lusha and Aimee Garcia will all get together on the show to reminisce with George about the show and create a series finale they never had. The show was abruptly cancelled in 2007 though it plays very well in syndication as well as on cable’s Nick At Night, and is very popular with current teens.

Atlanta Housewives Axed?
According to a report in the New York Daily News Bravo producers are looking to replace both Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes for the upcoming third season of the show. Seeing as Kim and NeNe are the best parts of the show, I found this report extremely hard to believe. I mean, without Kim we never would have gotten the song “Tardy For The Party.” The report claims that producers are taking meetings with other Atlanta-based women because both Kim and NeNe are asking for more money for the new season. Well, wouldn’t you? They really don’t make all that much money from the show and considering the publicity and ratings they bring to this cable franchise, I think all the women should be paid more. I’m not just saying that because I know both women could beat the crap out of me! A source close to the show tells us today that “no decisions about season three of ‘The Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ have been made yet.” Oh please. No, NeNe. No show, I say!

Done With “Dance”
Mollee Gray and Legacy Perez found themselves saying goodbye this week on “So You Think You Can Dance.” In a conference call with reporters yesterday they each discussed their future plans. Contemporary dancer Mollee, who was a dancer in all three “High School Musical” films, is hoping to become a triple threat, “Honestly I don’t know what’s in my future but I hope that it involves acting, singing and dancing,” she said. “I have been acting for seven years, I’ve been singing for about five. So, I hope that my future involves anything in the entertainment industry whether it be Broadway, movies just anything I can be performing in.”

B-boy Legacy, who toured as a dancer for Gwen Stefani, also has his heart set on multiple careers, “I want to pursue acting for sure,” he admitted. “That’s on my list but I want to choreograph and later on, get into directing. I think my b-boy creativity has opened up my mind to making pieces that are going to be different and impacting.” Six dancers will appear in next week’s finale – Ellinore, Jakob, Katherine, Russell and married dancers Ashleigh and Ryan. I’ll be backstage at the finale with the winners next week.

Speaking of “So You Think You Can Dance,” I was just checking my Twitter and came across MJ’s Big Blog (which follows the FOX show, as well as “American Idol,” quite closely) where I found an interesting story. Now true “Glee” fans (aka the Gleeks, like myself) already know that Amber Riley (who plays Mercedes) was rejected from “American Idol.” In fact, I believe I was the first person to ask her about this. Apparently, another “Glee” star got the axe from a FOX show too. Heather Morris, who plays the delightfully dimwitted cheerleader Brittany, was dumped from “So You Think You Can Dance” a few seasons ago. She almost made it to the Top 20 though. Considering her airtime has grown significantly this season on “Glee” I’m thinking she (like Amber) got the better end of the deal. (Check her out on “SYTYCD” HERE)

TV Moment Of The Week
Well, this was an easy one to choose. Who doesn’t love a good love story and on-air proposal? During Tuesday night’s “The Biggest Loser,” contestant Antoine got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend and fellow contestant Alexandra. During the live show, Antoine called his ladylove over to ask her the big question. The audience was cheering so loudly it was almost hard to hear his sweet words to her, “I’ve accomplished the impossible in my life because you were by my side. And now we’re going to be able to live our lives together forever if you accept this ring.” Man, I’m tearing up just writing it. Alexandra of course said, “Yes.” (Check out their post-show reactions HERE)
