Dish Of Salt: Katee Sackhoff And George Takei Go Big On ‘Big Bang Theory’

Well, it looks like “The Big Bang Theory’s” move from Monday nights to Thursday nights has paid off. After three weeks, the show’s ratings are holding steady with around 12 million viewers each week. Being one of the show’s biggest fans, I’m glad to see that more than just us fanboys and fangirls are finding the humor in this little gem of a show. It only took four seasons!

Just a couple of days after Jim Parsons took home the Outstanding Actor in a Comedy trophy at the Emmy Awards, I was exclusively invited on set for his first day back to work. When he arrived on set the cast and crew greeted him with a huge round of applause, which made humble little Jim blush.

After the congratulations cheers wore down, I heard Jim ask, “Where is my woman!?” Turns out he was looking for me… to thank me for the good luck charm I had given him at Comic Con this year, a purple little penguin named Bazinga – it’s the phrase Sheldon Cooper uses when he plays a practical joke on someone. Jim carried Bazinga all night long from the Emmy red carpet, to his seat and even up on stage with him to accept his trophy! I was so proud. Of course, Jim didn’t need my good luck charm. It’s the stellar acting that won him that award. Check out my interview with Jim from the set HERE.

The show has a huge episode coming up next Thursday, October 14. “Battlestar Galactica” beauty Katee Sackhoff will return again to Howard Wolowitz’s fantasy. No bathtubs this time around but Katee will have a friend with her – “Star Trek” legend George Takei. They’ll be playing Howard’s conscience as he tries to win back his former girlfriend, Bernadette. I call it a sort of devil/angel on his shoulder type of thing. Check out a preview clip of the episode HERE.

The two sci-fi stars were asked by the BBT producers if they could wear one of their old costumes from each of their respective shows. George had one in his closet that was gifted to him by “Star Trek” creator Gene Rodenberry. Katee had one from “Battlestar Galactica” that — get this — she stole from the set! She figured since two years had gone by it was time to let the cat out of the bag. Hear how she managed to grab the garb without anyone knowing in our interview HERE.

“The Big Bang Theory” airs Thursday nights at 8 on CBS.

Have a great weekend everyone!
