Dish Of Salt: Monday TV Round Up

Final Bow For ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’

Tonight marks the series finale of “Jon & Kate Plus Eight” after five years on the air. The show followed the ups and downs of Jon & Kate Gosselin as they raised their twins Mady and Cara and their sextuplets in Pennsylvania. When the couple’s marriage troubles came to light over the last year, the media pounced (and so did the paparazzi and the tabloids). As the marriage crumbled so did the show. TLC attempted to resurrect the show as “Kate Plus Eight” but scrapped the plans when it became clear Jon would try and block his kids from appearing. The show wraps up tonight with Jon and Kate taking the kids on separate outings, Jon to a fire station, and Kate to a dairy farm. In the episode, Kate makes her thoughts clear on end of the show, “It’s sad, it’s cut short. It’s too soon.”

‘Dancing’ Crowns A New Champ
The final three couples perform tonight on the “Dancing With the Stars” season finale. Mya, Kelly Osbourne and Donny Osmond will duke it out on the dance floor in three dances tonight including a free style and a group dance. Kelly’s professional partner Louis Van Amstel took to his Facebook page to keep fans informed on how rehearsals are going. It seems things got a little heated between the couple despite the close bond they have formed, “Kelly and I had camera blocking all morning starting at AM. 4 dances in a row. Everything went really well, but during the group dance we had a lot of tension. I guess nerves from both of us caused for an upset. After some sleep, food, a good heart to heart we both cried (we haven’t done that b4..lol) n rehearsed our asses off again.”

‘Lost’ Casting Call

Another dead cast member is returning to the island. Executive Producer Carlton Cuse confirmed via his official Twitter page over the weekend that Rebecca Mader would be reprising her role as anthropologist Charlotte Lewis. “We are very happy to welcome Rebecca Mader back to LOST. Just saw some dailies of her new work. Awesome,” Cuse tweeted. Charlotte seemingly died last season from some sort of illness related to the time travel flashes. “Vampire Diaries” hottie Ian Somerhalder has already confirmed to me that he will be returning as Boone. Carlton and co-creator Damon Lindelof first asked him to return when they ran into him at Comic Con this past July.

Series Premiere, ‘Find My Family’

In a new series from the producers of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” ABC premieres a new reality show tonight that attempts to reunite lost loved ones, “Find My Family.” The premiere episode focuses on Scott and Sandy Steinpas who are searching for the daughter they gave up for adoption when they were just teenagers. Scott and Sandy stayed together and have been married for 27 years and have raised three children. After having spent thousands of dollars and almost a decade searching for the daughter they gave up… until the Find My Family team reunite this family who had unknowingly been living just eight miles apart. Sounds like you will need a box of tissues for this one.

Great Guest Stars!

Just a reminder that “Battlestar Galactica” babe Katee Sackhoff shows up in a delightfully funny cameo on CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory” tonight. The blonde temptress is conjured up in a dream sequence by Simon Helberg’s character Howard Wolowitz. As the two suds it up in a bathtub together, Sackhoff offers up dating advice.
(CBS, 9:30PM)

Also, comedian Chris Elliott plays Lily’s estranged father who pays a visit in tonight’s Thanksgiving episode of “How I Met Your Mother.”
