Dish Of Salt: Monday TV Round Up

Lisa’s New Reality

Lisa Rinna and her husband Harry Hamlin have signed up for a new reality show set to air in the fall on TV Land. I chatted with Lisa about the new show while picking up goodies at our 4th Annual Stuff You Must Gift Lounge presented by On3 Productions. She told me that originally the title was going to be “I Love Lisa” but she explained, “It morphed into ‘Harry Loves Lisa’ because they love Harry so much and his name should be in the title!”

The six episode docu-soap will follow the couple’s life together and Lisa promises a fun ride, “Its going to be a combination of probably everything that has ever been on television. So it’s like we take the kitchen sink and just throw it all in. You are going to see everything. You are going to see our relationship. You are going to see our business life. You are going to see the store. You are going to see what it takes to stay married for 18 years.”

The one thing Lisa says we won’t be seeing a lot of on the show are their two daughters Delilah and Amelia, “The girls want to be honest with you but as a mom I can’t say, ‘Oh let’s put our kids on TV.’ They will just be in it a very little. It’s really much more about us dealing with issues about the children.”

Jane’s Joy

Also at the gift lounge “30 Rock’s” Jane Krakowski was beaming over her recent engagement to boyfriend of a year Robert Godley. “It feels so awkward,” she told me about calling him a fiancé now. “It’s fantastic but it is weird to say my fiancé instead of my boyfriend. When I say it, it makes me all excited but I still feel like, ‘Oh yeah! I gotta say it right,’ it is my fiancé now.

Godley, a fashion designer for the line Psycho Bunny, designed the diamond sparkler himself! Jane revealed, “It was completely a surprise. I didn’t even know that he was going to ask me or that he was looking. I’m terrible at making decisions so I’m glad that I had nothing to do with it. It’s best that he just presented it to me and I love it. I think it really suits me.”

Jane reveals that Godley popped the question after being snowed in during a 13-hour snowstorm in New York City, “His original plan got messed up so as he called it, it was the ‘Stockholm Syndrome.’ He figured after 13 hours of not getting to it by the time he did I would say, ‘Yes.’ It will always be romantic in my mind.”

Marissa Out/Mel B In

It was announced last week that Spice Girl and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Mel B is replacing fellow DWTS alum Marissa Jaret Winokur on season two of Oxygen’s “Dance Your Ass Off.” Despite Internet rumors to the contrary, there are no hard feelings between the two ladies according to Marissa. “I love Mel B,” she told me over the weekend. “There has been a lot of stuff on the Internet like Mel B, Marissa, fat/skinny. I think she is great host. I think she is gonna do great. I wish her all the luck in the world.”

Marissa says the decision to leave the show was mutual. “I took into heart what the show was representing and it was a definitely a mutual move on. I really wish the show well! Actually, I really wish the contestants a lot of great success. I hope the new contestants get as much out of it as my contestants got. I hope they continue on with the journey.”

Marissa plans to focus on her acting career now.

From “Dexter” to “Desperate”

“Dexter’s” Rita may have met a shocking and gruesome demise on the season finale of the hit Showtime drama, but actress Julie Benz already has her next gig. She’ll be guest starring in at least three episodes of “Desperate Housewives” beginning on February. “I’m such a big fan of the show,” she told me over the weekend inside the Stuff You Must Lounge. “My first day on Wisteria Lane I like, freaked out. I got out of the van and said ‘I can’t believe I’m on Wisteria Lane!’”

Julie tells me that the ladies of the show were very welcoming towards her. “I play a stripper with a heart of gold. Very Julia Roberts (in “Pretty Woman”),” she revealed. “My character is fun. She’s sweet. She has a good heart and she shakes things up on Wisteria Lane. It’s a great role. I get to exercise some of my comedy chops which I haven’t done in a very long time.”

Although she is playing a stripper Julie explains that we won’t be seeing too much skin, “A little bit. Not too much. Its very tasteful.”
