Dish of Salt: Tuesday TV Dish (Your Summer TV Cheat Sheet)

The spring TV season wraps up this week with the Tuesday night finales of “Parenthood,” “The Biggest Loser,” ‘The Good Wife,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and the Wednesday night finales of “CSI: New York,” “American Idol” and “Criminal Minds.” If you are thinking, “Now what am I gonna watch?” have no fear my fellow TV junkies – the summer is chock full of brand new episodes!

Today, I give you a handy cheat sheet for what’s new, what’s coming back (and when) in the month of June (and the end of May). Trust me – it’s a lot!

May 27
“So You Think You Can Dance” – Season seven returns with some major changes. Mary Murphy is out as a permanent judge (she will choreograph instead) and Mia Michaels is in. The top 20 have been replaced by a top ten, who will partner dance with former contestants being referred to as all-stars. One thing that will stay the same – the incredible dancing. FOX, 8 PM ET/PT.

“100 Questions” – NBC offers up this traditional sitcom about a pretty English gal named Charlotte Payne (Sophie Winkleman) who has yet to meet Mr. Right. When she joins a popular online dating site, she gets a little help from a dating counselor who requires her to take a 100-question compatibility test. Each answer requires her to recount a poignant and humorous time in her life with friends. Don’t get too attached this show, however. Only six episodes were produced and one of the actors has already been re-cast in an NBC sitcom for mid-season called “Perfect Couples.” NBC, 8:30 PM ET/PT.

“Mall Cops of America” – An action-packed day in the life of the Mall of America in Minnesota, as seen through the eyes of the men and women assigned to guard its stores and shoppers: the mall cops. From protecting celebs to busting shoplifters, there’s no job too big for the mall cops. So, basically, it’s a reality show version of the movie “Paul Blart: Mall Cop.” TLC, 10 & 10:30 PM ET.

“Police Women: Memphis” – This 12-part series follows four female officers with the Memphis Police Department (MPD) as they put their lives on the line to keep the streets safe. TLC, 9 PM ET.

May 31
“True Beauty” – Season two of this reality competition series returns with ten contestants competing to be crowned the most beautiful. However, what the contestants don’t know is they are being judged on their inner beauty rather then their outer beauty. Carson Kressley and Beth Ostrosky Stern join as judges. ABC producers told this year’s crop of beauties they would be competing to become the Face of Vegas. How sinful! ABC, 10 PM ET/PT.

June 1
‘America’s Got Talent” – AGT returns with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, June 1, and the Wednesday edition debuting June 2 (9 – 10 PM ET). Howie Mandel (“Deal or No Deal”) joins the series as a new judge along with returning judges Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan. Nick Cannon also returns to host. NBC, 8 PM ET/PT.

“One Big Happy Family” – Season two begins of this larger than life series, which profiles the Coles, a close-knit family of four dealing with life as a morbidly obese household. Each half-hour episode follows the family on their journey of self-improvement, chronicling everything from their everyday struggles to the larger picture of why they overeat. TLC, 9 PM ET/PT.

“Jersey Couture” – Cashing in on the new love Jersey is getting from reality shows like “Jersey Shore” and “Jerseylicious,” comes this show about a dress shop run by the colorful Scali family. Oxygen 10 PM ET/PT.

“The Little Couple” – It’s time for season three of this sweet show about married couple Bill Klein, a businessman, and doctor Jennifer Arnold, both who happen to be under four feet tall, but are living live to the fullest. In this season, we’ll see them building a custom house and continuing on their journey towards parenthood. TLC, 10 PM ET/PT.

“Downtown Girls” – A new MTV reality show chronicling the real-life exploits of Shallon Lester, a blogger for Glamour.com, and her friends: Gurj, a digital marketing guru at Atlantic Records; Nikki, a fashion boutique owner; Victoria, an aspiring attorney; and Klo, a bride-to-be, as they show they have what it takes to make it in the city together. MTV, 11/10 C.

June 2
“Ghost Hunters Academy” – A new class of paranormal investigators train hands-on with veteran ghost hunters Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango as they explore some of the most haunted locations in the country and around the world. SyFy, 9 PM ET/PT.

“Tosh.0” – the second season continues with 16 new episodes. Merciless host Daniel Tosh is back to expose and skewer the endless array of ridiculousness on the Internet. Comedy Central, 10:30 PM ET/PT.

“Toddlers & Tiaras” – From fake eyelashes to hair extensions, it’s season three of this rather disturbing look at young pageant queens in the making and the stage moms and dads that make it all happen. TLC, 10 PM ET/PT.

June 3
“Royal Pains” – This dramedy with Mark Feuerstein as a doctor-for-hire among the ultra elite in the Hamptons was last summer’s biggest hit. It returns for season two with Henry Winkler (The Fonz!) joining the cast as Mark’s father. USA, 8 PM ET/PT.

“Burn Notice” – Burned agent Michael Weston (Jeffrey Donovan) was kidnapped in the season three finale. The show returns and the mystery of why he is being held captive will be solved. Burt Reynolds has a guest spot this season as well. He’ll play a CIA operative who has also been cast out of the agency. USA, 9 PM ET/PT.

June 6
“The Hard Times of RJ Berger” – Premiering immediately following the MTV Movie Awards comes this coming-of-age comedy that follows the trials and tribulations of an awkward high school teenager. Sounds like a familiar show but this one’s got at twist. RJ Berger is well endowed and the whole school finds out about it, which changes his place in the high school clique system. MTV, 11/10 C.

“Drop Dead Diva” – At the close of season one, Deb was ready to let go of her past and embrace her new life as Jane (Brooke Elliott). But the unexpected arrival of Jane’s secret husband, Ethan (Devon Gummersall), at her doorstep left her with more questions than ever. Paula Abdul reprises her role as Judge Paula Abdul in the season two opener. Lifetime, 9 PM ET/PT.

June 7
“Last Comic Standing” – After taking a two year hiatus, the show that scours the country looking for the best stand-up comedian returns with Craig Robinson (“The Office”) as host. The winner receives an exclusive talent deal with NBC and $250,000. NBC, 8 PM ET/PT.

“The Good Guys” – FOX aired a preview of this buddy cop show starring Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford during last week’s “American Idol” results show but the show now moves to its regular time slot. FOX, 8 PM ET/PT.

“Lie To Me” – FOX yanked this show, starring Tim Roth about a lie detection expert, off its spring schedule and moved it to summer. FOX, 9 PM ET/PT.

“Persons Unknown” – A creepy drama in which a group of strangers is kidnapped and wakes up in a deserted town that they can’t leave. NBC, 10 PM ET/PT.

“Dance Your Ass Off” – Mel B hosts season two of this hybrid dance/weight loss competition series where full-figured contestants take to the stage to unleash their inner thin. They will battle each other on the dance floor – as well as on the scale — for a shot at a $100,000 grand prize. Oxygen, 11 PM ET/PT.

June 8
“Pretty Little Liars” – Soapy drama based on a series of best selling books about four teenagers who are being harassed by a mysterious person named A, who may or may not be their dead friend Allison. ABC Family, 8 PM ET/PT.

June 10
“Hell’s Kitchen” – Cranky chef Gordon Ramsay cranks up the oven for a seventh season of torturing restaurateur contestants. FOX, 8 PM ET/PT.

“Late Night Liars” – a game show where contestants face off with drunk puppets and have to decide if they are lying. Comedian Larry Miller hosts. GSN, 11 PM ET/PT.

June 13
‘True Blood” – Season three of this bloody good vampire tale continues and it’s sure to be a scream! HBO, 9 PM.

“Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” – Season two of this reality show that follows the Kardashian sisters (minus Kim) as they live in Miami. E!, 10:00 PM ET/PT.

“Holly’s World” – Cameras follow Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend Holly Madison as she takes on life in Las Vegas. E!, 10:30 PM ET/PT.

June 15
“Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D List” – It’s time for season six of this two-time Emmy winning series. This season Kathy takes on Washington, DC to campaign to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” She also gallivants in Alaska with Levi Johnston and knocks on Sarah Palin’s door; judges a toddler beauty pageant alongside her mom; and continues to stalk A-Listers from Kristen Chenoweth and Liza Minnelli to Lauren Conrad. And when she’s not doing all of that, Griffin juggles her A-List remodel of her palatial compound in Los Angeles and accepts mid-week gigs at Biloxi’s Beau Rivage Casino to support her mom’s rent at a pricey senior living community in Beverly Hills. Bravo, 9 PM ET/PT.

June 16
“Top Chef” – Seventeen contestants duke it out in D.C for chef supremacy on season seven of cable’s number one food show. Bravo, 9 PM ET/PT.

June 17
“Ultimate Merger” – Reality TV villainess Omarosa (“The Apprentice”) is looking for love and Donald Trump is helping her out with 12 bachelors vying for her affection. TV One, 9 PM.

June 20
“Leverage” – Timothy Hutton and his team of con artists are back for a third season of scams. TNT, 9 PM.

“The Real L Word” – A reality show version of Showtime’s hit series “The L Word,” which will follow a group of real-life, high-profile, left coast lesbians as they go about their daily lives, at workÂ… and play.

“Scoundrels” – A comedy starring Virginia Madsen and David James Elliott about a family of thieves forced to go straight. ABC, 9 PM ET/PT.

June 22
“Hawthorne” – This medical drama about the chief nurse at a Virginia hospital returns for a second season. Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Vartan star. TNT, 9 PM ET/PT.

“Memphis Beat” – Jason Lee of “My Name Is Earl” stars in this quirky dramedy about a detective who loves the blues and Elvis Presley. The show is produced by George Clooney. TNT, 10 PM.

June 24
“Futurama” – FOX cancelled this animated show back in 2003. Now it returns with all new episodes to Comedy Central at 10 PM.

June 27
“Entourage” – The boys are back for a seventh season on HBO and Vince went and got himself a haircut! John Stamos and Jessica Simpson will guest star this year.

“Hung” – This quirky dramedy about a high school basketball coach, who becomes a male prostitute, returns for a second season on HBO. Sounds a lot like aforementioned MTV show ripped off an idea here?

June 28
“Make It Or Break It” – ABC Family’s gymnastics drama returns for a second turn on the balance beam. Olympic gymnast Nastia Luikin will appear this season. ABC Family, 10 PM.

June 29
“Rescue Me” – Season six of Dennis Leary’s critically acclaimed series about a group of NYC fire fighters returns with ten new episodes. F/X, 10 PM.

“Louie” – a new sitcom starring comedian Louie CK about his life as a single dad and stand-up comedian living in NYC. F/X, 11 PM.
