LOS ANGELES (February 7, 2007) — The Dixie Chicks, Tony Bennett and John Mayer are among the artists that will gather this Friday to perform and help honor Don Henley as 2007s MusiCares Person of the Year.TheRecording Academeyarranged the evening of dinner and performances to celebrate the former Eagles singer for his extraordinary musical achievements and his equally extraordinary commitment to environmental and humanitarian causes. Seal, Trisha Yearwood, Bruce Hornsby, Sam Moore, Keb? Mo?, Timothy B. Schmit and Michael McDonald will also play at the event, hosted by Ed Begley, Jr. and song writing legend Bernie Taupin.The evening?s stars don?t stop there, however. In addition former Beach Boy Brian Wilson, Jackson Browne and Garth Brooks will be in attendance.Attendees will be able to bid at a live auction during the event, proceeds of which will benefit the MusiCares charity, which helps musicians with financial, medical and personal assistance in their time of need.
