DJ Pauly D Says ‘Jersey Shore’ Recasting Would Be A Bad Move: ‘We’re Irreplaceable’

DJ Pauly D thinks it would be unwise to recast the “Jersey Shore” with a new bunch of tanned twenty-somethings looking for a little fun on the seaside.

“I think we’re irreplaceable,” Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio told People in Las Vegas on Friday, of reports suggesting the GTL gang would be replaced.

The reality star, who is getting his own spin off show, suggested that if MTV were to replace the current cast, it wouldn’t measure up.

“I don’t think they could replace us. They’d just be people trying to be like us, anyway,” he said.

Late last week, Us Weekly quoted a source who claimed the “Shore” cast would be replaced.

“After this group comes back from Italy and shoots Season 5 this summer, that will be the end for them,” a source told the mag.

TMZ also ran a similar report, but on Friday MTV shot down the rumors.

A rep for the network told People, MTV has “no plans to recast the show.”

The next season of “Jersey Shore,” which was filmed in Italy, premiers on MTV on Aug. 4.
