Dominic West Cast As Male Lead In Showtime Pilot The Affair

Dominic West has lined up a new role in a Showtime pilot.

The British actor will play the male lead in “The Affair.”

Dominic’s character, Noah, is described as, “a good husband, devoted father of four, and New York City high school teacher whose settled, comfortable world is about to implode when he meets a woman he thinks is his soul mate.”

The series comes from Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, both formerly of HBO’s “In Treatment.”

“’The Affair’ is an intense and intimate exploration of two marriages and an affair that disrupts them — with all of the complex consequences that result,” according to Showtime.

Dominic, of “The Wire” fame, was recently seen on U.S. television screens in the critically acclaimed BBC America drama “The Hour,” which chronicled the lives of a collection of journalists, producing a news television show in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

BBC Two, which made “The Hour,” decided earlier this year not to go forward with a third season of the show.
