Drew Lachey Shakes Off Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars Nickname

Former Season 2 mirrorball champ Drew Lachey wasn’t entirely happy when judge Len Goodman, while complimenting him on this week’s “Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” performance, called him “Bottom 2 Drew.”

“I don’t know how I got the nickname ‘Bottom 2 Drew,’” the singer said on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live, referencing Len’s remarks, which noted he was “Bottom 2 Drew” no more. “I’ve been in the Bottom 2 once in my entire life, and now it’s a nickname because it rhymes?”

While he’s shaking it off, Drew is finding his professional partner, Anna Trebunskaya, shaking her head in the studio.

“She doesn’t get all my jokes, I’ll make a lot of pop culture references, I’ll say something about ‘Happy Days,’ or I’ll sing a song or reference a movie and she’ll be like (straight face),” he laughed.

Drew actually danced with Cheryl Burke when he won the mirrorball, but this season Cheryl and her partner, Emmitt Smith are in Texas, one of two couples rehearsing away from the rest of the pack. (The other couple is Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, who rehearse in Arizona.)

Rehearsing in Los Angeles has its advantages, Drew said.

“Most of the people are in the same studio so we get to see everybody and we peek in and kind of do a little spying,” Drew said.

“DWTS” returns for Week 3 of competition on Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
