Four simple words from the Duchess of Cambridge to a fan in Quebec have sparked an array of international headlines suggesting the new royal is planning to expand her family.
According to multiple reports, including Britain’s The Sun newspaper and People.com, while greeting the public in Quebec on Sunday, Prince William’s bride, Kate, was given a bouquet of flowers by Raddaela Cheater, the two-year-old daughter of David Cheater, a British-born gentleman, now living in Canada with his wife.
David said the move by his daughter prompted a comment from Kate, which eventually led to her revealing her own wish to have children.
“Kate said to me, ‘What a beautiful daughter you have,’” David recounted.
“When I said to her I wished her and William well with starting their own family, she said, ‘Yes, I hope to,’” he told reporters, per People.
The comments are the first time Kate has been quoted publicly about her wish to have a family, The Sun reported.
As for David, he was thrilled to have met the Duchess.
“It’s a real honor to meet any member of the royal family for me as I’m a royalist,” he said, according to The Sun. “I was hoping but I didn’t think it would happen.”
