DVD Distributor Removing Morbid Brittany Murphy Image

The grisly cover image for Brittany Murphy’s film “Deadline” will be removed from DVD distributor Redbox’s kiosks in the wake of her death, the company confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“Redbox feels removing the ‘Deadline’ box art is the appropriate course of action following the star’s recent death,” a Redbox spokesperson said in a statement to Access. “We will continue to carry her film, but will remove the film’s box art from our displays.”

The image will be removed from kiosk touch screens and the Redbox Web site by tomorrow and all displays before the end of the year, the spokesperson further stated.

The image features Brittany – who was found collapsed in a bathroom on Sunday and pronounced dead that day at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center – sinking in a bathtub. Other variations of the art include blood.

Murphy was 32.
