Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Invites Young Cancer Patient To ‘Baywatch’ Set

Dwayne Johnson is about to make one young fan’s dream come true.

In a sweet
Instagram post on Wednesday, the actor and former WWE superstar accepted
7-year-old Gabriel Singleton’s request to meet his action hero idol.

“Tater! Guess what buddy? I’m coming to meet you!!”
Dwayne wrote, captioning a photo collage first shared on the youngster’s
Facebook page.

Gabriel,
known affectionately as “Tater,” has been battling cancer for four
years. With the help of his loved ones, he launched a social media campaign in
February with the hope of catching Dwayne’s attention and convincing the star
to visit him in the hospital.

The star
exceeded expectations, inviting Tater to be his “special guest” on
the set of “Baywatch” in Savannah, Ga.

“Everyone
on set is excited to meet you… especially the pretty girls! Uh oh,” he teased Tater in his post.

Tater’s
original, now-viral plea included a handwritten sign explaining why Dwayne’s
“positive attitude” has been an inspiration throughout his treatment.

“Losing
my hair made me sad, but seeing you rock your bald head made it easier!”
the sign read, before going on to detail Tater’s medical ordeal.

“I
think you are strong, but I am very strong too. I’ve been stuck by hundreds of
needles, have had TONS of shots, gone through 8 surgeries, too many blood and
platelet transfusions, lots & lots of chemo treatments, radiation therapy,
tests, scans, and 2 stem cell transplants!” the note continued.

In
his message, Dwayne told Tater the admiration is mutual.

“Not
only am I super pumped to meet you, but I’m a big bald headed LUCKY DUDE to
meet you as well,” he wrote. “Big man you’re way stronger than I’ll
ever be and you better get ready, because I hug like a bear!”

The
43-year-old signed off with further kind words, giving Tater props for his
memorable moniker.

“PS:
the nickname ‘Tater’ is almost as cool as ‘The Rock,'” he wrote, adding,
“Actually it’s way cooler.”

“Baywatch”
is currently in production and will hit theaters in 2017.
