‘DWTS’ Pro Sharna Burgess Drops Out Of Tonight’s Competition Due To Injury

“Dancing with the Stars” has confirmed to Access Hollywood that pro dancer Sharna Burgess has suffered a serious knee injury during recent rehearsals with partner racecar driver James Hinchcliffe. The injury has forced Burgess to drop out of Monday night’s performance.

Sharna’s return date for the show is uncertain, as of now.

The news of Sharna’s injury comes late into the competition as the dance couples only have three weeks left to strut their stuff.

But the show will still go on for Hinchcliffe who will dance with pro Jenna Johnson on Monday’s ‘DWTS’ episode. Johnson was previously partnered with Jake T. Austin before low scores eliminated the pair on Sept. 20.

When asked about what should happen if Hinchcliffe and Johnson move forward after tonight’s competition, Access was told the plan for that scenario is “unclear” for now.

On the show’s Season 23 premiere night, racecar driver Hinchcliffe and pro partner Burgess tied for the top score with Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and her pro partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy who performed a cha-cha to “American Girl.”
