“Orphan Black” won’t return to BBC America until April 2014, but when it does, don’t expect to be able to finally put Paul, the character played by Dylan Bruce, in a box.
“I think Paul is a guy that’s always going to be teetering on the fence as far as, ‘Is he good? Is he bad? What are his intentions? Does he really care about Sarah or does he not care about Sarah?’” Dylan told Access Hollywood in a recent interview. “And that’s what I think makes him really interesting, because he could go either way.”
On Monday night’s “Chelsea Lately,” Dylan was the guest as Lindsay Lohan filled in for the late night host, and on the show, he addressed how the first scene he shot on “Orphan Black” involved him wearing a modesty sock.
When the actor spoke with Access recently, he said his co-star, Tatiana Maslany, who plays Sarah (as well as a host of clones on the show), was nothing but wonderful on the day he had to strip down to next to nothing.
“She was so warm and welcoming and so cool,” Dylan said of Tatiana. “It wasn’t a big deal at all.”
Fans of “Orphan Black” are very aware of the chemistry between Dylan’s Paul and Tatiana’s Sarah, something Access asked him about.
“She could have chemistry with a piece of cardboard, that girl is so amazing,” he said. “It’s so easy to have chemistry with Tatiana Maslany.”
Jordan Garvaris, who plays Sarah’s brother, Felix, on the show, told Access the cast was “immensely surprised” by the success of their show, which recently wrapped up its first season on BBC America.
“That usually doesn’t happen in the first season either, so I kind of am feeling like if this is what happened in the first season, what’s gonna happen in the next couple seasons? Hopefully we can keep the audience hooked,” Jordan told Access. “I know that [creators] John [Fawcett] and Graeme [Manson] have some pretty exciting plans for Season 2.”
But, Jordan said he didn’t have any insight into what could happen in John and Graeme’s master plan.
“They’ve just been super cagey and been like, ‘Lots of big stuff happening!’” Jordan said.
“We’re cloaked in secrecy,” Dylan added. “We don’t know anything. We’re kept guessing week to week as well.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, in the run up to the return of “Orphan Black” (Season 1 was just released on DVD and Blu-Ray), fans can catch Dylan Bruce on The CW’s “Arrow.”
Dylan is playing Adam Donner, described by a rep for the show as “a corn-fed all-American lawyer in his 30s,” who is “smart and charismatic.”
Adam will be a new co-worker for Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance.
Dylan will appear in “Arrow” episodes 201 and 203.
“Arrow” returns on October 9 at 8/7c on The CW.
