Eddie Cibrian Plans To Sue Tabloid Over ‘Deceitful Lies’

Eddie Cibrian is planning to sue a tabloid magazine which recently ran a cover headline and story claiming he is involved with a 24-year-old aspiring actress and cheating on girlfriend LeAnn Rimes.

In an exclusive statement to Access Hollywood, the “CSI: Miami” actor, through his rep, revealed that he has met with his legal counsel and is planning to file a lawsuit.

“Unfortunately Life & Style Magazine has chosen to go out with a story filled with inaccuracies and deceitful lies, presumably to titillate sales but clearly resulting in harm to Eddie Cibrian and others,” the statement from Cibrian’s rep, on behalf of the star, read. “This is irresponsible and reckless journalism. Eddie has met with his attorneys and will be filing a suit for libel and other actionable grounds shortly. It’s a shame that Life & Style resorted to a story of this nature and they will regretfully now have to face scrutiny of untruthful reporting in a court proceeding.”

In the mag’s latest issue, and in a story posted online on Wednesday, Life & Style reported that Cibrian is “carrying on a three-year romance with” a 24-year old aspiring actress named Scheana and cheating on Rimes, his rumored girlfriend.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Cibrian filed for divorce from his wife of nearly eight years, Brandi Glanville, in August.

The filing came months after reports first emerged that Cibrian engaged in an affair with Rimes, his Lifetime “Northern Lights” movie co-star. Both stars denied those reports.

Rimes is also in the process of divorcing her husband, Dean Sheremet. She announced the news on her Web site in September.

When contacted by Access Hollywood, a spokesperson for Life & Style said, “We stand by our reporting.”
