Elisabeth Moss ‘Itching’ To Start Shooting ‘Mad Men’ Season 5

It’s been 10 months since the fourth season finale of “Mad Men” aired back in October, and Elisabeth Moss – who plays Peggy Olson on the AMC hit – can’t wait to get to work on Season 5.

“I’m so excited,” Elisabeth told Access Hollywood of her anxiously awaited “Mad Men” return, at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Thursday. “It’s been a year since we’ve done the last season.”

Luckily, the talented cast will get back to work “next week,” and Elisabeth said it can’t come soon enough.

“We’re all really sort of itching to get back in there,” she told Access of her castmates.

The 29-year-old actress also revealed Jon Hamm (Don Draper) will step behind the camera for an upcoming episode.

“Yes, I believe [Jon] will be directing an episode,” she told Access.

Beyond “Mad Men,” Elisabeth — who stars in the upcoming big screen adventure drama, “On the Road,” along with “Tron’s” Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Stewart – has made the most of her summer hiatus.

“[Summer] has been great,” she said. “I took some time off. I was in London for 6 months doing a play, and then I needed a little break, so I took a little time off [and] I went to Mexico, which was wonderful.”

“Mad Men” is slated to return to AMC on March 16, 2012.
