Elizabeth Banks: ‘Hunger Games’ Movie Will ‘Honor’ Suzanne Collins’ Novels

The big screen adaptation of “The Hunger Games” will deliver, according to star Elizabeth Banks.

“Everything that’s in the book, we’re really trying to honor for the fans,” the actress told Access Hollywood on Tuesday night at the “Our Idiot Brother” premiere in Los Angeles.

Those details also apply to Elizabeth’s Effie Trinket character, known for her eccentric style and over-the-top hair and costumes.

“Effie, she delivers on all those fronts,” she told Access when asked about her wild wardrobe.

As for how the movie is using special effects to create the world in Collins’ dystopia novels, Elizabeth revealed there are more real world elements than computer generated ones.

“There are some special effects, but I have to say a lot of it is practical,” she explained. “A lot of running around in the woods and the arena is a very real sort of place.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the actress recently revealed to Access if she’s Team Peeta (played by Josh Hutcherson) or Team Gale (played by Liam Hemsworth) – find out who she prefers, HERE!

“The Hunger Games,” which also features Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz, is slated for theatrical release on March 23, 2012.
