Elizabeth Taylor: Engagement Rumors ‘Simply Aren’t True’

Good news guys – La Liz is still on the market.

Elizabeth Taylor hit up her Twitter page on Monday to debunk reports she was engaged to her manager, Jason Winters.

Last week, Us Weekly reported Dame Elizabeth, 78, and Jason, 49, were set to tie the knot.

However, her Tweet on Monday suggests otherwise.

“The rumors regarding my engagement simply aren’t true. Jason is my manager and dearest friend. I love him with all my heart,” she Tweeted on Monday afternoon.

Following the engagement report, a rep for Liz confirmed to Access Hollywood that the two were romantically involved, but wouldn’t provide any further information.

“It’s no secret that they’ve been together forever and are in love, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were engaged,” the rep said at the time. “Right now they are keeping it between them.”

Jason, a talent manager from Sterling Winters Management, reportedly recently landed the job as Janet Jackson’s new manager.

In 2007, the actress gushed to columnist Liz Smith about Jason, saying, “Jason Winters is one of the most wonderful men I’ve ever known and that’s why I love him. He bought us the most beautiful house in Hawaii and we visit it as often as possible.”

Some of Liz’s previous marriages include Conrad Hiton (the grand-uncle of Paris and Nicky Hilton) Eddie Fisher (Carrie Fisher’s father; he famously left Debbie Reynolds for Liz), Richard Burton (two separate times) and most recently Larry Fortensky – from whom she split 1996.
